NEWS: Eito Music catalogue now available in China through QQ Music
The UK-based classical record label Eito Music has today made its recording catalogue available for streaming in China through QQ Music. Classical music fans will now be able to enjoy the works of the most exciting international classical music talent through China’s most popular music streaming platform.
QQ Music is owned and developed by Tencent Holdings Limited, a leading provider of comprehensive Internet services in China. By making their catalogue available on the popular streaming site, Eito Music is providing Chinese listeners with direct access to music from the new wave of innovative classical music artists around the world.
Eito Music’s founder, award-winning concert pianist Belle Chen, believes that current technological trends can be used to redefine the traditional relationship between artists and labels in the classical music industry on a global scale. Chen says: “The UK is a breeding ground for some of the most creative, entrepreneurial, and daring classical musicians in the world. Eito Music was originally founded to broadcast the works of these brilliant young artists, and I am pleased that our catalogue now has a direct presence and accessibility for listeners in both Western and Eastern markets.”
Since it was founded last year, Eito Music has already released 7 albums. The most recent addition to Eito Music’s catalogue, launched earlier this month, is the debut album of Chinese virtuoso violinist Yijia Zhang entitled Tango Embrace. Tango Embrace’s launch was met with much enthusiasm by the classical music industry both in the UK and internationally, and users of QQ Music can hear it for themselves from today. For fans of classical music outside of China, Eito Music’s catalogue is also available on all major digital platforms such as iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play and Spotify. Physical albums are also available in major independent record stores in UK and Taiwan, as well as directly through Eito Music’s website, eitomusic.com, and via Amazon.
The fast growth of the record label is due in part to the high calibre of artists that they represent and collaborate with – they count among the musicians in their catalogue winners of awards such as The American Prize and London Music Awards, and the artists have been featured in prominent press including Amati Magazine, BBC China, ABC FM, Classical Radio Finland, and Monocle 24. Eito Music’s artists have worked with mastering engineers including Ray Staff who is best known for his work with The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin and The Clash. With today’s launch on QQ Music, music lovers in China will be able to discover these exciting new sounds for themselves.
