Different from most pianists, An-Ting Chang has a special background. She is 28 years old. Graduating from the best university in Taiwan (National Taiwan University) in 2007, majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Drama Theatre, she then obtained Master of Music, Piano, at the Royal Academy of Music with Maud Hornsby Award. In October 2009, her project 4.48 Psychosis, Webern’s and Gibbons’ Music at Sir Jack Lyons Theatre, Royal Academy of Music. The project combined theatre and classical piano, and with 4.48 Psychosis Chang established her own theatre company- Concert Theatre. In 2009, An-Ting Chang received a DAAD scholarship- Stüdienstipendien fur Ausländische Künstler to do advanced study (aufbaustudium) in piano performance at the Hochschule für Musik, Franz Liszt Weimar, Germany. She is now pursuing her PhD degree, performance in practice, at the Royal Academy of Music under support of Taiwan Ministry of Education and the Royal Academy of Music. Chang is currently the artistic director of Concert Theatre.


An-Ting Chang’s concerts include in England, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Taiwan. She regards concerts as creative works, and approaches them by combining with different media, especially with theatre. Since 2009, besides playing the regular normal concerts, An-Ting Chang has created different concert works, including concerts with multimedia: ‘The Interpreters – A Poet’s Love’ (Germany, Taiwan) and Concert Theatre: ‘4.48 Psychosis, Webern’s and Gibbons’ Music (Sir Jack Lyons Theatre)’,  ‘Sonata Movements‘ (RAM, RADA and Blue Elephant Theatre), ‘The Rite of Spring/ Romeo and Juliet‘ (UK tour).
