NEW RELEASE: Charity Single for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fundraiser

Today Belle Chen, winner of the 2015 Classical Music Rising Star Award at London Music Awards, has released the first of 2 brand new charity singles to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer research. 100% of proceeds from the sale of these singles will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund in UK and Formosa Cancer Foundation in Taiwan.

Over the past forty years, developments in cancer research have dramatically improved survival rates for some sufferers. Four decades ago the chance of surviving for 5 years or more after a diagnosis of Breast Cancer was 46% - now it is 80%. Unfortunately the same developments have not been seen in Pancreatic Cancer. Today, as was true forty years ago, survival rates for this disease are a tragic 3%.

Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. It is very difficult to diagnose: its symptoms can be indicative of many other conditions and often do not appear at all until the tumour is inoperable. More research into Pancreatic Cancer is desperately needed to improve survival rates - in the meantime, patients and their families are in need of support in the face of this terrible disease.

For this reason, Belle is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Formosa Cancer Foundation. The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund finances research and clinical trials to seek a method of early diagnosis and, ultimately, a cure for Pancreatic Cancer. The Formosa Cancer Foundation provides support to cancer patients and caregivers in Taiwan, as well as educating the public and funding cancer research.

The work done by these charities is very close to Belle’s heart. Winner of the 2015 Classical Music Rising Star Award, she can frequently be seen gracing the stages of the UK and Taiwan. Her fearless and visionary approach in cross-platform experimentation with classical music has placed her as one of the most innovative young musicians of her generation. Belle has been determined to fundraise for a cure and better understanding of Pancreatic Cancer after experiencing first-hand the devastating effect this aggressive cancer has on patients and their loved ones.

The first single 'Clair de Lune' is available on Bandcamp, where the purchaser is encouraged to name his or her own purchase price for the track as donation towards the charities. The track will also be available through iTunes, Google Play, Amazon MP3, and streaming services such as Spotify and YouTube towards the end of the week.

Belle also encourages contributors to donate directly to the charities as an alternative. She is offering complimentary download codes for the track upon presentation of donation receipt. There is no donation too big or small, and any contribution will be acknowledged and appreciated.
